Individual Counseling

At Olivet Counseling, I understand that life can be overwhelming. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, or navigating difficult life transitions, seeking support is an important step toward healing. Individual counseling provides a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions and work toward growth. In our sessions, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practices, Narrative Therapy, IFS, and Person-Centered Therapy, all tailored to meet your specific needs. Together, we’ll focus on your goals, identify solutions to current struggles, and develop tools to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.

I work with individuals ages 10 and up to help build coping strategies, gain deeper self-awareness, and create positive change in your life. Whether you’re dealing with past trauma, facing challenges in relationships, or simply want a better understanding of yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

Couple’s Counseling

Relationships face many challenges, and sometimes it takes an outside perspective to help couples reconnect and work through their struggles. In couples counseling, I work with both partners to strengthen communication, resolve conflicts, identify unproductive dynamics, and rebuild trust. Whether you are navigating everyday challenges, preparing for marriage, or facing deeper relational issues, I create a safe, non-judgmental space for both individuals.

We will identify patterns in your relationship and work on practical steps to create positive change. My goal is to help you both build a stronger foundation, better understand each other’s needs, and find ways to grow together, no matter where you’re starting from.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling blends therapeutic techniques with faith-based principles for individuals and couples who desire spiritual guidance in their healing journey. I approach Christian counseling with the belief that your faith and values are integral to your overall well-being. In these sessions, I provide a compassionate, Christ-centered environment where you can explore your challenges, deepen your relationship with God, and work through emotional struggles with faith-based support.

My background in Christian Counseling, combined with therapeutic techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, allows me to integrate spiritual growth with emotional healing. Whether you’re struggling with personal issues, relationship challenges, religious wounds, or spiritual concerns, Christian counseling offers a holistic approach to support you in aligning your mental health with your spiritual beliefs.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Do you ever feel like you’re pulled in different directions, or that parts of you are in conflict? In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I can help you explore these different “parts” of yourself that might seem at war within you – the ones that might be hurting, the ones that try to protect you, the ones that want your needs met, and everything in between. IFS recognizes that each of these parts has a role, and by understanding them, we can start to heal old wounds and create greater harmony within. This approach is particularly helpful for individuals struggling with the effects of trauma, anxiety, or persistent self-defeating patterns, offering a path towards self-compassion and lasting change. Together, we’ll work to identify these inner parts, understand their origins, unburden them, and ultimately, help you feel more balanced and empowered.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a powerful therapeutic technique designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic memories. It’s especially effective for those who have experienced trauma, PTSD, or distressing events that continue to affect their daily lives. During EMDR, I guide you through a series of eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation while focusing on specific memories, allowing your brain to process the trauma in a healthier way.

EMDR helps desensitize the emotional charge of traumatic memories, helping you to view them with less distress and move forward in your healing. This approach is often life-changing for those who have struggled with trauma, as it allows for lasting emotional and psychological recovery.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented, structured therapeutic approach that helps you identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. I use CBT to help you recognize unhelpful patterns in your thinking and work on replacing them with healthier, more constructive beliefs. This therapy is effective for treating anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health challenges.

Through CBT, we’ll work together to understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop strategies to change the way you think and react to difficult situations. With CBT, you’ll gain practical tools to address immediate concerns and long-term solutions to manage your mental health.

Substance Abuse Counseling

Substance use can impact many areas of life for the individual as well as their loved ones. Finding the right support is important. I work with individuals, couples, and family members in low-risk situations who are struggling with substance use, offering guidance to help them understand underlying challenges, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change.

While I am unable to provide care for individuals in high-risk situations, I am here to support those navigating substance use concerns in a way that prioritizes self-awareness, personal growth, and long-term well-being. Together, we will focus on breaking unhealthy patterns, identifying triggers, and building strategies that support a balanced and fulfilling life.
